Islington Exhibits

If you’re whizzing along the Holloway Road in the direction of Highbury Corner, look over your left shoulder as you pass number 158 to catch a glimpse of my stained glass books in the window of Blackwells bookshop.

It’s to do with Islington Exhibits, an initiative that unlocks hidden venues in Islington to give artists a space to display their work. It’s produced by Rowan Arts in partnership with St. Luke’s Centre and Cubitt Education, and this year I’m participating for the first time.

When you’re finished looking at the reflections of the passing traffic in the stained glass books , then go along to Emmanuel Church at 145 Hornsey Road, London N7 6DU, where you can see some of my large-scale paper pulp works alongside, among others, Joycelyn Alstron, Danny Green and Barry Milord Sanford.

The exhibition runs from
Friday 25th June – Sunday 4th July 2010
Mon – Sat 11 am – 7 pm, Sun 1 pm – 3.30 pm (sharp)

PRIVATE VIEW   Friday 25th June, 6pm – 9pm

Look forward to seeing you there.

Many thanks to  Finsbury Park Business Forum & Tollington Parish for sponsoring the event and to Pete from The Londoneer for the write-up.

BCAF

I’ll be showing small works at the BCAF at the weekend. According to the blurb, the Battersea Contemporary Art Fair is “one of the largest artists’ fairs in the UK, where over 150 painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers will sell directly to the public with no commission payable to dealers or galleries. It is an opportunity for people to see a broad range of art at competitive prices form below £40 to over £4,000”.

I will be there everyday throughout the fair – you’ll find me at stand C23. Drop by and say hello.   IRMA

Grand Marché d’Art Conpemporain

Apart from the large portfolio getting jammed tight in the X-ray machine on the way back, all went well at the Grand Marché d’Art Contemporain in Paris.

The idea was to keep it simple and direct with one very large piece filling the back wall of the stand, like an installation.

Il colore cattura la ragione. 108 x 248 cm. 2010

Posso solo dire che è un atmosfera fantastica amplificata dal luogo stesso.

Bastille Art Fair

I’m going to Paris to take part in the Grand Marché d’Art Contemporain at Place de la Bastille. This is a huge art fair, taking place near the banks of the Seine, that runs from 28th April to 2nd May 2010. Last year I participated in the “Premier expo”, so this time I’m taking the plunge and booking the full stand. More to follow.
