About the Book
My focus has shifted to invisible nature, micro pollution and micro fibre plastic.
Current project, Earth is Calling, explores the issues through a series of fibre art pulp works, contrasting natural, organic material with man-made plastic fibre. In other works micro-photography, film and time-lapse are used to produce my outcomes.
The project culminated in a large-scale exhibition at the Crypt Gallery, London (Oct/Nov 2019) for which the book below was produced. The intention now is to tour the exhibition while developing further work. Two venues have been agreed on so far.

Exhibition of new work by IRMA IRSARA
Featuring soundscapes by Jonathan Lambert
The focus of my work has shifted to invisible nature, micro pollution and micro fibre plastic, using micro-photography / film to produce my outcomes.
Earth is Calling reflects on the issues through a series of fibre art pulp works, contrasting natural, organic material with man-made plastic fibre. The artist will also present time-lapse and micro time-lapse works of melting ice embedded with natural and man-made items sourced from various locations (including along the Thames foreshore). The accompanying sound was created by musician and soundscape artist Jonathan Lambert.
The gallery, in the Crypt at St Pancras Church, is one of London’s most unique and atmospheric exhibition spaces. It’s located in the centre of London right opposite Euston Station
Artists Drawing A Line Under Torture
This year, Freedom from Torture is marking its 30th anniversary. Since 1985, it has been the only human rights charity dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of torture survivors seeking protection in the UK.
This is the ninth Freedom from Torture art auction, which is held biennially. It is the largest single fundraising event for the charity and the last event in 2013 raised more than £100,000.
The free public exhibition of the works will be open daily from 18 – 22 November 2015. Hosted in the atmospheric rooms of the Bargehouse on London’s South Bank, this will be a rare opportunity to see such a large and diverse group of artists exhibiting alongside each other.

Grand Marché d’Art Conpemporain
Apart from the large portfolio getting jammed tight in the X-ray machine on the way back, all went well at the Grand Marché d’Art Contemporain in Paris.
The idea was to keep it simple and direct with one very large piece filling the back wall of the stand, like an installation.
Posso solo dire che è un atmosfera fantastica amplificata dal luogo stesso.
Bastille Art Fair
I’m going to Paris to take part in the Grand Marché d’Art Contemporain at Place de la Bastille. This is a huge art fair, taking place near the banks of the Seine, that runs from 28th April to 2nd May 2010. Last year I participated in the “Premier expo”, so this time I’m taking the plunge and booking the full stand. More to follow.
