This year’s London Print Studio’s Members Summer Show offers snapshot of fine art contemporary printmaking in London. The show features work across the full range of print techniques, with etching particularly well represented. There is work by well established and emerging artists.

Picture shows digital print (ZC DAY 8 – 07) from the Zero Celsius series of images taken of the ice installation in the former Victorian ice wells at the London Canal Museum.

doorofperception.com-Hieronymus_Bosch-The_Garden_of_Earthly_Delights_by_Bosch_LeftMi sembra molto adeguato il ritorno del trittico di Bosch assieme a 19 altri panelli nel suo paese per la mosta a Noordbrabants Museum.

A diciasette anni, frequentando l’Accademia di Urbino, ho scelto di analizzare il Trittico delle Delizie usando le teorie di Pino Parini. Per iniziare si trove il punto dove l’occhio si ferma e da questo si parte per estendere linee dove c’è peso nel colore e forma. Il gioco del triangolo e del quadrato formano con precisione il trittico (proporzioni in perfezione). L’occhio scoperto si estende esponendo simboli alchemici del periodo storico.

Diamond Leaf Retina

Retina Diamond Leaf, on show at Art at the Bridge 7 (Tower Bridge Engine Rooms), evolved from a collaboration with poet Frances Presley in 2015 and coincided with the publication of her anthology ‘Halse for Hazel’, funded by the Arts Council. The work incorporates the concept of bridges as neural networks along which sparks of light can travel. The drawing, superimposed on an inverted photo of the feminine hazel leaf, refers to the repairing of a damaged retina and the fear of losing the ability to see and connect which is described in Presley’s text.

Tower Bridge (Engine Rooms)  is showcasing the works of 15 female artists with the theme Building Bridges: The Female Perspective.

Celebrate female artistic endeavour  with Tower Bridges ‘Art at the Bridge’exhibition. Now in its seventh iteration, this long-running exhibition in partnership with Southwark Arts Forum will display the works of 15 female artists as they explore the theme of‘Building Bridges: The Female Perspective’.

The exhibition aims to reflect upon female perspectives in the community, providing a platform for artists to express their ideas through a variety of media including paintings, etchings, video, photography and drawing.

Each of the artists have drawn inspiration from their own experiences and these artworks offer a striking contrast to the huge and beautifully maintained steam engines that surround them.

The exhibition runs from March 8 to July 31, 2016 and admission will be included in the entry for Tower Bridge Exhibition (Adults: £9; Children aged 5-15: £3.90; Concessions: £6.30; Family tickets from £14.10; Under 5s free). The experience visiting the high-level Walkways has now been bolstered with the addition of the new glass floor, which gives visitors a unique perspective of London 42 meters above the Thames. The nearest underground stations are London Bridge or Tower Hill.

 

Artists Drawing A Line Under Torture

This year, Freedom from Torture is marking its 30th anniversary. Since 1985, it has been the only human rights charity dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of torture survivors seeking protection in the UK.

This is the ninth Freedom from Torture art auction, which is held biennially. It is the largest single fundraising event for the charity and the last event in 2013 raised more than £100,000.

The free public exhibition of the works will be open daily from 18 – 22 November 2015. Hosted in the atmospheric rooms of the Bargehouse on London’s South Bank, this will be a rare opportunity to see such a large and diverse group of artists exhibiting alongside each other.

BYOB 2015

IMG_4385BYOB Brighton was back yesterday for Brighton Digital Festival in Brighton Dome. Pop-up Brighton’s 4th annual event returned once again for a night of collaborative moving image, projection, participation and experimentation.

This was my second time participating in the event and a chance to project time lapse ‘work in progress’, D-freeze (first 4 images). Last 3 images show work by some of the other artists.

cover 08 FINAL VERSION textI’ll be showing four new pieces at the exhibition ‘in the open’ at Murray Edwards College in Cambridge. The work is a result of a collaboration with poet Frances Presley who’s book Halse for Hazel also features cover image and inside pictures specifically created for the project. The private view is open to all and exhibition runs until 29th September – opening hours 10.00 – 6.00 every day.
